probation-court

A St. Joseph man charged with a felony for allegedly leading a law-enforcement officer on a high-speed pursuit in Lafayette County on August 5 changed his plea in court on November 15.

According to a Lexington Police report, an officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver of a vehicle sped away at a high rate of speed, traveled on several city streets, ran through stop signs and a stop light. The driver eventually stopped the vehicle in a parking lot and fled on foot. Creed Campbell was located and taken into custody.

Court documents say Campbell was charged with a felony for resisting arrest, detention or stop by fleeing.

Campbell, who pleaded not guilty on August 6, changed that plea to guilty as part of a plea deal. He was sentenced to five years of supervised probation, including a 15-day shock order.
