Marshall Parks and Recreation Director Chad Unterreiner says staff will be meeting with some people on Friday, December 3, to discuss how to move forward with the replacement of The Battle of Marshall Gazebo at Indian Foothills Park.

The gazebo caught fire and burned in late July.

Unterreiner also said the parks department is still waiting on a decision from the insurance company on whether or not the Seminole Court shelter house that was damaged by the flooding from Salt Fork Creek in late June will be condemned or not. The water lever reached near the roof of the shelter, which is in the lower portion of the park.

Unterreiner says he should know more in a few weeks.

Both areas are still cordoned off, not allowing visitors.

The photo of the gazebo was taken the day after the fire.
