During the Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works meeting on Thursday, December 2, the board approved two action items presented by the underground facilities department.

Grant Piper, the director of underground facilities, says they have received three bids for a new walk behind concrete saw. All bids were made from one vendor and exceeded the projected budget cost of $18,000.

The board approved the motion to reject all bids received for a walk behind concrete saw – in addition to reopening bids.

During a board meeting in November, the board approved the opening of bids to replace two one-ton, four-wheel drive, extended cab and chassis.

Piper says bids were being reviewed by management and was seeking the board’s recommendation.

The board approved the purchase of two 2022 Ford F-450 in the amount at $40,870 each through Elmer Hare Ford Sales in Marshall.

In other news, Controller Tony Bersano says for the month of October, MMU’s total revenue totaled $2,256,694 – up $22,693 compared to October 2020. In October expense comparisons, MMU reported $1,981,748 – down $850,161 when compared to October 2020.

Bersano says MMU reported a net income gain of $274,763 in October. As compared to last year, MMU reported a net income loss of $598,483 in October 2020.
