On October 23, the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg celebrated its homecoming and 150th anniversary. In honor of the university’s mascot, 50 mules were ridden in the homecoming parade – setting a Guinness World Record title.
School officials say UCM is the first organization to attempt this particular record.
Jackie Jackson, associate vice president fo r the UCM Alumni Foundation and Tiffany Cochnan, senior director of events and alumni engagement, worked together to make the accomplishment possible.
In order to set a record, Guinness World Record required UCM to provide evidence through videos, photos and paperwork.
As of Wednesday, December 8, UCM has been named the world record holder for Largest Ridden Parade of Mules.
Jackson and Cochnan says this accomplishment is a reflection of the university and its community.
A celebration for the university’s record is scheduled to be held in 2022.
