The Saline County Assessor, Jessica Adcock Goodman, was at the meeting of the county commission on Thursday, December 9, to notify the public of a scheduled public hearing regarding agricultural land productivity values for the 2023-24 assessment cycle.

Goodman says the hearing is scheduled to be held in Jefferson City at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 14.

Goodman says agriculture values are the only classification that are not seen assessed at current values. Individuals who want to voice their opinions should attend the meeting.

In other news, Goodman says she received information about a possible increase of personal property values that may be seen in 2022. She clarified this increase would be in regards to vehicles – which values are estimated to increase 25 percent.

Goodman reiterated that county assessors do not set the value. The value will be set by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).
