During the Saline County Commission meeting on Thursday, December 9, commissioners announced the approved entities that will be receiving a portion of its allotted $4.4 million funds from the American Rescue Plan Act signed into law by President Joe Biden.

The Saline County Task Force graded the request of 12 organizations in the area. As of today, three request have been approved by the commission.

Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. says other request have been put on hold and/or are waiting for more information before a decision can be made.

Other organizations who have requested funds were the Slater Ambulance District, Ahrens Funds LLC, Marshall Cultural Council, Sheriff Cindi Mullins, Saline County Collector, City of Marshall, Saline County Public Water Supply District No. 1, Saline County Public Water Supply District No. 3 and Saline County Ambulance District No. 3.

Guthrey says the commission and Task Force have not denied any requests to date.
