
Helen Grace Newton Brandt, 87, of Marshall, died Saturday, December 11, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Born July 27, 1934, in Paris, MO, she was the daughter of the late Forest Glenn Newton and Ella Rosina Klein Newton. Helen was raised in the Chariton county area and was a 1952 graduate of Brunswick High School. On August 15, 1953, she married Henry E. “Hank” Brandt who preceded her in death on June 10, 1986. Helen lived in Marshall most of her life and was dedicated to raising her family and being a homemaker. Once her family was raised she later worked at J.C. Penny in Marshall for 15 years. Helen was an active member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include five children: Michael Brandt of Marshall, Debra Waters (Richard) of Baton Rouge, LA, Robin McDaniel (Joe) of Lee’s Summit, Dan Brandt (Cindy) of Marshall and Julie Brandt (Jeff Stockhorst) of Fayette; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; as well as other extended family.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren; and one brother, Colonel Newton.
