A 37-year-old Boonville man is facing a felony charge after a reported incident on November 30.

According to a report from a Boonville Police officer, the alleged victim said there was a road-rage incident, where a car pulled up behind him and followed him to his residence. He said the suspect driver got out and approached him with a knife in his left hand. The alleged victim said he stepped into his residence and grabbed a shotgun.

The alleged suspect said he followed the man to find out who he was. When asked why he got out of his car, he said, if the guy wanted to fight, then he was going to fight.

Court documents say William Allen Vanbrunt III is charged with a felony for unlawful use of a weapon- exhibiting. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

Vanbrunt is scheduled to be arraigned at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
