
Harry E. Turner, 80, of rural Marshall, died Tuesday, December 14, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with Edward J. Turner and William W. Harlow officiating. Inurnment with military rites will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Born March 23, 1941, in rural Carroll County, MO, he was the son of the late Edward Franklin Turner and Mildred Irene Clause Turner. Harry lived in Saline County most of his life and was a 1959 graduate of Marshall High School. He served in the United States Army and discharged to the Missouri Army National Guard, retiring after serving for over 21 years. On March 31, 1990, he married Elva Faye Charles Lindemann who survives of the home. Harry’s career was spent as a heavy equipment operator and a mechanic. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Operating Engineer’s Union, and a 50-year member of the American Legion (Post 191 then transferring to Post 279).
In addition to his wife, Elva; he is survived by two children, Lori Mills (Brian) of Harrisonville and Edward Turner (Stephanie) of Independence; seven grandchildren: Abby, Jordan, Noah, Isaac, Miranda, Madison and Macy; six great- grandchildren; three stepchildren: Barbara Knight (Paul) of Oak Grove, Susie Summers (Brad) of Holden and Russ Lindemann (C.J) of Oak Grove; five step- grandchildren: Lindsey, Kelley, Rob, Zak and Nichi; and eight step-great- grandchildren.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; and a stepson, Jeff Lindemann.
