Administrators and the Board of Education of Marshall Public Schools are aware of the nationwide rumors that school violence is planned for Friday, December 17.
A press release from Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher says school officials have been monitoring the situation, and have released this statement:
“Marshall Public Schools will heighten security measures on the 17th and will have additional law-enforcement personnel as a visible and protective presence. It should be understood that these threats in no way mention any MPS school and are believed to be part of a nationwide trend. There has been no threatening communication from any individual or group. As always, parents are encouraged to use their own good judgment in making decisions about their children’s school attendance. We expect safe and happy celebrations across our campuses as students and adults look forward to the holiday season.”
