An area school district was given a four-figure donation to help out kids in need.

Officials in the Boonville R-1 School District say HEEL2TOE Boonville Community Foundation representatives Kathleen Conway, Evan Melkersman and Heather Rapp recently presented a check for $2,500 to Boonville R-1 Superintendent Dr. Sarah Marriott for the Heel2Toe initiative in Boonville Schools.

Heel2Toe provides new shoes and socks to students who need them.

School officials say, “Warm shoes and socks provide a boost of comfort and confidence in the classroom, especially in cooler temperatures.”
