During its meeting on Monday, December 20, the Higginsville Board of Aldermen discussed a couple of bills regarding properties in the city.
City Administrator Jeanette Dobson explains the first one is in reference to a plat owned by Donald and Barbara Rasa.
The second involves a plat owned by Bryce Kappelman.
In other news, Dobson said the time allotted to file and run for Mayor or seats on the Board of Aldermen is dwindling. Residents have the chance to file during regular business hours at city hall until 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 28. Seats up are those currently held by Mayor Don Knehans and Ward 1 Alderman Lee Barker, Ward 2 Alderman David Wagner and Ward 3 Alderman Darrell Augustine. All of the incumbents have filed to try to retain their seats in the upcoming Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
In addition, Dobson noted city hall will be closed in observance of Christmas on Friday, December 24, and in observance of the New Year on Friday, December 31.
