A 44-year-old Cole Camp woman was arrested after a reported pursuit on Christmas Eve in Pettis County.
According to a release from the Pettis County Sheriff’s office, deputies- in conjunction with a Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force investigation- conducted a drug interdiction traffic stop in the area of U.S. Highway 50 and Route T.
Deputies contacted the driver and sole occupant and attempted to obtain consent for a vehicle search. The driver then fled in her vehicle. A pursuit was initiated reaching speeds of approximately 95 mph. Stop sticks were successfully deployed at two different locations, and the vehicle ultimately came to a stop on its rims on West 10th Street in Sedalia. The woman attempted to flee on foot, but K9 Cav was deployed and apprehended her a short distance later, and she was taken into custody.
Between the vehicle search and the amount located on her person after entering the jail, approximately five ounces of methamphetamine and paraphernalia were seized. Charges of trafficking, resisting arrest and introduction of a controlled substance in a correctional facility are being sought.
Per KMMO policy, the name of the suspect will not be released until formal charges are filed.
