Bond has been fixed at six figures for a 56-year-old Atlanta, Georgia, man facing felony drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop on I-70 in Lafayette County on December 9.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says a trooper allegedly located three quart-sized baggies with controlled pills containing fentanyl and a brick-shaped item that appeared to be in the shape of a “kilo.” The item was wrapped in tape and contained a white substance inside. A handgun also allegedly was located, and an investigation revealed it was reported stolen from Atlanta.
Samuel Lee Hines is charged with felonies for trafficking drugs in the first degree; unlawful possession of a firearm; and stealing a firearm. Bond started at $334,000, but was reduced to $250,000 cash or surety on December 22.
Hines pleaded not guilty on December 13. His next hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
