Facing a felony charge after a reported incident on November 30, a 37-year-old Boonville man is due in court.

A Boonville Police report says the alleged victim told an officer there was a road-rage incident. He said a car pulled up behind him and followed him to his residence. He said the suspect driver got out and approached him with a knife in his left hand. The alleged victim said he stepped into his residence and grabbed a shotgun since he recognized the man.

The alleged suspect said he followed the man to find out who he was. When asked why he got out of his car, he said if the guy wanted to fight, then he was going to fight.

Vanbrunt pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on December 14. His counsel-status hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
