
During the most-recent meeting of the Marshall School Board, high school principal Christy Jones explained the high school will not be able to be used to its full capacity for the remainder of the 2021-22 academic year due to the fire on November 17.
Jones explained administrators have a plan to have students in-seat for a good portion of the second semester, provided the city would grant usage of the Martin Community Center.
Ward 2 Councilman Kirk Arends discussed it more with Jones.
Jones further explained the plan is to utilize the Martin Community Center for the junior and senior classes.
City Administrator JD Kehrman explained more, including the announcement that there will be a speed reduction on South Odell Avenue near the entrance at Emmit G. Williams Drive.
The council expressed it is in favor of helping out the school district any way it can. The two still are hammering out the particulars of the agreement.
