Wick Jacobi has been serving for several years on the Marshall Municipal Utilities’ Board of Public Works. His overall term is up soon, and Mayor Julie Schwetz made a recommendation to appoint a former councilman to fill the upcoming vacancy on the board during the city council meeting on Monday, December 27.

Mayor Schwetz thanked Jacobi for his service, and then submitted the name of a person to be considered.

Mayor Schwetz was asked why Jacobi was not chosen to serve another term.

Jacobi- who currently is serving as the president of the Board of Public Works- explained he is willing to serve another term on the board, but it is out of his hands.

As Mayor Schwetz said, the formal voting on whether or not to approve the appointment of Chuck Hines will be taken up at the next council meeting on Monday, January 3, 2022.
