
Evergy Metro, Inc. d/b/a Evergy Missouri Metro and Evergy Missouri West, Inc. d/b/a Evergy Missouri West (Evergy) have filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) to construct, install, own, operate and maintain electrical solar production and related facilities in Kansas City, Missouri.
According to a news release, the requested CCN would allow Evergy to build a new solar electrical production facility located at Hawthorn Generating Station, in Evergy Missouri Metro’s service area.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than Thursday, January 20, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov .
Individual citizens wishing to comment should contact either the Office of the Public Counsel or the Public Service Commission Staff. The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency that represents the general public in matters before the Commission.
Evergy Missouri Metro serves approximately 292,700 electric customers in Missouri. Counties in the KMMO listening area affected include Carroll, Chariton, Howard, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis and Saline.
