Bobby Lee Ashford, 88, of Marshall, died Monday, December 20, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Marshall with Dr. Mike Parris and Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church or Community Cancer Center in Marshall in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born October 31, 1933, in Stanberry, MO, he was the son of the late Richard M. Ashford and Elsie L. Dollars Ashford. He was a graduate of Boonville High School and attended the University of MO-Columbia. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 191 in Marshall. On April 23, 1960, he married Virginia Howery who survives of the home. He lived in Marshall most of his life and in earlier years he was manager of LaCrosse Lumber Company in Marshall and Slater. He was co-owner of ASC Builders developing subdivisions and owner and operator of Ashford Real Estate and Insurance retiring in 1993 to golf and fish. He had served as president of Central Missouri Board of Realtors; served on the Board of Directors of the Marshall Chamber of Commerce; served on the Marshall City Council; and served on the Board of Directors of Clarks Fork Insurance. He was a 60-year member of Arrow Rock Lodge No. 55 A.F and A.M. and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; four children, Donald Keith VanBuskirk (Nancy), Jill Lynne Ashford, Judy Kay Ashford and Robert Lee Ashford (Mandy) all of Marshall; nine grandchildren, Brandy O’Neal (Jason), Amy VanBuskirk, Jessica Allen, Ashley Bezdicek (Marcus), Eric Ridge (Brittany), Kaycie Pease (William), Rebecca Ashford, Katie Ashford and Ginny Ashford; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Betty Bishop of Marshall and Carolyn Borgman of Smithton; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Joe Ashford.
