An area health department has issued two scam alerts to its residents.
According to the Cooper County Public Health Center, persons should be aware of an email wanting information about the Pfizer or Moderna Vaccine. The email address is out of the United Kingdom – and health officials suspect it is a scam.
Melanie J. Hutton, MSN Administrator, also says there is an individual who has been pretending to be a health inspector in counties other than Cooper thus far.
The impersonator allegedly arrives at facilities to be given access and perform a false inspection.
Hutton reminds residents, there are three part-time inspectors in Cooper County: Sue Wilman, Randy Strough and Jesse Devillier. Hutton is also cross trained and can fill in during emergencies.
Traditional health inspectors are not scheduled in advance and all inspectors have ID’s which can be confirmed with the health center’s office if needed.
If a business has any doubts, you are urged to call (660) 882-2626 to verify credentials/identity of health inspectors.
