The administration at Marshall High School has released the plan for how the second semester will work for all of its students.

Due to a fire at the high school on November 17, students and staff have not been able to access the classroom part of the building, forcing the administration to come up with an alternate plan.

In a news release to all parents and students, MHS Principal Christy Jones says parents and students need to know some things in order to be prepared for the second semester at MHS.

From 8 a.m. to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in-person school will be held, and attendance is required. Freshmen and sophomores will hold classes in the commons area at the high school, while juniors and seniors will be in class at The Martin Community Center.

Buses will run their routes and take all of the students to MHS, and all students who normally walk to school will need to report to MHS. Junior and senior bus riders and walkers will then be shuttled out to The Martin Community Center for school.

Breakfast and lunch will be served at MHS grab-n-go style. Students will be in school  from 8 a.m. to noon and will report to their Owl Time teacher for attendance. Students need to show up daily with their laptops charged and all their things needed for school.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students will be expected to attend Google Meets every class period (like before); work from home; and attendance is required.
