
Mary M. Cotten, 78, of Nelson, died Sunday, January 2, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 6, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Randal Huff officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the family. Born September 1, 1943, in Lafayette County, MO, she was the daughter of the late Samuel T. Morelock and Ora Edith Anglen Morelock. On December 15, 1962, she married Ernest Dewain Cotten Sr. who preceded her in death on June 20, 2021. She lived in the Nelson area most of her life and worked at Artex in Boonville for many years. She enjoyed working puzzles, reading and gardening.
Survivors include six children, Dewain Cotten Jr. (Joe), Jeff Cotten (Alicia), Marvin Cotten (Anne), Dennis Cotten (Glenora), Cindy Bruce and Jennifer Edde (Robert); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Huff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by one daughter, Rita Elaine Cotten; eight siblings, Clifford Morelock, Bonnie Gaba, Ruby Brown, Ann Page, Donna Goode, Samuel Morelock, Lawrence David Morelock and Flora May Morelock.
