The total of positive COVID-19 cases has topped the 1,400 mark since the beginning of the pandemic in Chariton County.

According to officials at the Chariton County Health Center, 16 new positive cases were reported on Wednesday, January 5, which makes a total of 1,409 COVID-19 cases in the county.

With 1,371 of them being released from public health isolation- including 11 on Wednesday- and 20 COVID-19 related deaths, there are 18 active cases.
