Members of the Sedalia Police Department’s Tactical Entry Unit and Crime Resolution Unit responded to a residence to serve a search warrant related to a drug investigation, at approximately 6 a.m. Thursday, January 6.

According to a news release, at the time of arrival, entry was gained into a residence at 1421 South Beacon Avenue and contact was made with two male and two female subjects inside. All the subjects were detained without incident.

Authorities say investigators performed a detailed search of the residence, where methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia items were allegedly located.

While processing the residence, officers noticed code violations and personnel from City of Sedalia Code Enforcement responded to the scene to evaluate the home.

At the conclusion of the investigation the primary resident, a 42-year-old woman, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was placed on a 24-hour hold. State charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia are being sought for the woman. Per KMMO policy, the name of the suspect will not be released until formal charges have been filed.

In addition to the arrest and state charges, the residence was also determined to be in violation of Sedalia City Ordinance 36-96 (Prohibition Against Maintaining a Nuisance Property). The residence was posted with notice of the violation, mandating the property owner resolve the violations within 60 days.
