On Tuesday, January 11, the Marshall Public Schools’ board members met in a special session to discuss curriculum plans for students and renovations following the fire at Marshall High School.

Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher says the goal is to have all students back at the high school after Spring Break – on Tuesday, March 22.

A ServPro spokesperson gave the details of the tentative timeline.

In other news, the board discussed the reasoning behind the transition to using the Edmentum program. The program “allows teachers to create standards-based coursework; measure the value and effectiveness of curriculum based on student performance; and design real-time content adjustments for individual students or for an entire class.”

MHS Principal Christy Jones explained…

School officials say Edmentum, along with other factors in this situation, are most likely to be reimbursed through insurance.
