On Friday, January 14, an area school district issued a letter to its students and parents/guardians regarding the spread of COVID-19 in its buildings.

The Carrollton R-7 School District sent students home for the three-day weekend with Chromebooks, along with learning instructions, in case the district had to transition to an alternative learning method.

As of Monday, January 17, school officials announced students are scheduled to attend class virtually on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 18 and 19.

Students are expected to utilize their Chromebooks during this time to check on updates regarding assignments. Teachers are scheduled to be available via email and Google Classroom to answer any questions during regular school hours.

School officials say curbside meals will still be served at the Carrollton Elementary School from 10 to 11 a.m.
