In order to ensure the healthcare services and programs it offers truly meet the needs of the community it serves, Fitzgibbon Hospital is seeking input from citizens throughout Saline County and its service area.
A press release says Fitzgibbon is encouraging interested stakeholders and patrons to complete an online health needs assessment.
Data released by state and national health agencies ranks Saline County residents low in “healthy behaviors” and high in several indicators of poor health, including high numbers of people who are obese, who smoke and who suffer from chronic disease such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. Additionally, the numbers of uninsured individuals remains high.
To validate these findings, and to assist in identifying additional important health needs in the community, Fitzgibbon Hospital is encouraging area citizens to complete the survey. Responses are confidential, and no personally identifiable information is gathered.
To facilitate the data gathering, representatives from Fitzgibbon also will be undertaking outreach activities in collaboration with other local agencies and employers, ensuring they receive input from the underserved.
The survey is designed to take less than 10 minutes to complete. It could take a bit longer, however, depending on reading level and health issues of the respondent.
The survey tool is now available through a special link at www.fitzgibbon.org/CHNA2022.
