The Marshall Police Department is investigating after receiving the report of a residential burglary on January 11.

According to a police report, a man filed a report that a residence he owns in the 600 block of North Ted Avenue had been broken into and items were stolen.

The owner advised the alleged burglars used hedge clippers to pry on the back door of the residence. The owner said the back door window already had been broken, and he had used a sheet of metal to cover it. He also said the subject(s) had bent the metal to gain access to the residence.

The owner said he noticed he was missing a medium-sized black metal tool box that contained tools for the garage; along with a small cabinet, which contained nuts and bolts. He also said Lennox car banks were missing, and Hot Wheels cars were missing from the drawers in a dresser.
