Arrested via utilizing a phone app on September 20, 2021, a Warrensburg man facing felony charges is due in court.

A probable-cause statement says the store clerk told authorities a man came into the store, picked up a few things, brought them to the counter and asked if she was the only person in the store. As soon as she said “yes,” she said he demanded money from the register and threatened to shoot her. She said she did not see a gun, but the man held his hand on his waist, and she could see a bulge near his waist band. The clerk put all of the money from the register into a brown shopping bag, as well as the items the man had picked up. He also demanded her to put her cell phone in the bag.

The clerk was able to track her cell phone through the Find My iPhone App, and authorities apprehended Brian Alexander Cooper, whom they say was in possession of the phone, items he had picked up in the store and $167 in cash. The clerk identified Cooper as the person who had robbed the store.

According to court documents, Cooper is charged with felonies for robbery and burglary in the first degree. Bond remains $20,000 cash only. Bond reduction was denied by the court on December 20.

Cooper pleaded not guilty on October 18. A case review is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, at Johnson County Circuit Court.
