Facing multiple sex-related felony charges involving a juvenile, a court proceeding is set for a Holden man.

According to a probable-cause statement, on February 27, 2020, a girl was removed from the home of Roy Jason Bailey and placed into protective custody. In December 2020, the girl began disclosing sexual abuse she allegedly suffered from Bailey. The girl said the abuse happened over an approximate 10-month period. The girl’s disclosures in explicit details were made to a foster mother and a therapist.

Charges were amended in November 2021, and court documents say Bailey is now charged with 12 felony counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy- deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years old; a felony for child molestation in the second degree; and a misdemeanor for furnishing or attempting to furnish pornography to a minor. Bond remains at $50,000 cash only.

Bailey pleaded not guilty on November 11. A case review is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, at Johnson County Circuit Court.
