sentencing-guilty-court

A Concordia resident who was facing sex-related felony charges for having inappropriate sexual relations with a juvenile changed his plea in court to some of the charges in November.

A probable-cause statement says on May 10, a 13-year-old girl alleged to the Lafayette County Department of Family Services that Caleb Michael Ingalls had been raping her. She also alleged Ingalls had assaulted her by throwing her to the ground and stomping on the side of her head, causing an injury that was treated at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Ingalls originally told authorities that regarding the alleged rape, the girl had seduced him, and the sex was consensual. And regarding the alleged assault, he said the girl had kicked him first.

According to court documents, as part of a plea deal, Ingalls pleaded guilty to felonies for incest and statutory rape or attempted statutory rape in the first degree with a person less than 14 Years old. The court dismissed the domestic assault in the third degree charge.

On January 18, Ingalls was sentenced to 15 years on Count one and four years on Count two in the Missouri Department of Corrections, with the sentences to run concurrently. The court retains jurisdiction and ordered Ingalls to be placed in the Sexual Offender Assessment Program- 120-day Shock Treatment.
