
Medora Jean “Dora” Stroup, 81, of Nelson, passed away Saturday, January 22, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, MO.
Dora was born June 17, 1940 the youngest child of Sherman and Agnes (Davis) Todd in Sedalia, MO and was raised in Clifton City, MO. She attended Otterville High School. On August 3, 1957 she married Robert Stroup who preceded her in death on January 25, 2020. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Dora was employed at the Bobber Truck Stop in Boonville, the Hab Center and Banquet Foods in Marshall. She loved clothes and especially enjoyed going to garage sales and thrift stores. It made her day when she found a beautiful dress or suit.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Dale Stroup and Erayna of Boonville and Jeffrey Lynn and wife Cheryl of Russellville. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Amanda “Mandy” (Stroup) Johnson and husband Brent of Jefferson City, Blake Stroup of Indiana and Adam Stroup and wife Alycia “Aly” of Jefferson City, four great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her husband, Robert, and her parents, she was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, January 27, at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Otterville, MO, the service will be immediately following visitation at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery.
