The Marshall Homeless Shelter and Services has announced its Point It Out (PIT) Count/Survey scheduled for Wednesday, January 26, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 23.

According to Missouri Balance of State Continuum of Care, an organization that seeks to prevent and end homelessness in Missouri, says due to increasing COVID-19 levels across the state, the January 2022 PIT Count is being pushed back to a later date.

Myra Riley, President of Marshall Homeless Shelter and Services, explained the purpose of the count.

Persons interested in volunteering with the count and survey are urged to contact Riley at (660) 252-0499 ext. 101.

Riley says volunteers must be over the age of 18, and must attend a volunteer training session. The training session is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. the day of the count.

Volunteers who cannot attend the training session on February 23, can make arrangements with Riley.
