The Saline County Commission opened bids for some necessary work to be done by private contractors at the courthouse during its special meeting on Thursday, January 27.
Commissioners said they advertised for bids for banisters on the second and third floors and to replace certain window blinds.
Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner announced the details of the bids.
Commissioners approved the bid from Ricmar Decorating Gallery.
As for the bid for the banisters, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. started a discussion.
Fenner further explained.
In other news, commissioners said they have distributed about $1.35 million of the $2.2 million the county received in late May 2021 from the ARPA funds. They have received several other requests, but the rest of the money has not been awarded at this time. Fenner said the county is scheduled to receive the other half of its $4.4 million allotment from the federal government in late March or early April.
