A 59-year-old Forest Lake, Minnesota, man has been charged with a felony after a traffic stop on I-70 in Lafayette County on Tuesday, January 25.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a trooper located a female’s wallet from Minnesota- which had been reported stolen- under the front passenger seat. In the trunk, the trooper located license plates from the state of Illinois and Minnesota, which also had been reported stolen. In addition, the trooper says he located another female’s information who resides in Pleasant Hill. Her vehicle was reported broken into and her credit cards were stolen. She reported her cards were used at Walmart and Walgreens in Jackson County to purchase gift cards. The trooper viewed surveillance video at each location to confirm the purchases by the suspect.

According to court documents, Aloysius Eric Schrom is charged with a felony for stealing of $750 or more and misdemeanors for stealing less than $150 and operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid license. Bond is set at $50,000 cash only.

Schrom was arraigned and pleaded not guilty on January 26. His counsel-status hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, at Lafayette County circuit Court.
