A 38-year-old Sedalia resident who was arrested after the execution of a search warrant in the 1300 block of South Osage Avenue on January 5 has been formally charged.

The Sedalia Police Department says members of the Crime Resolution Unit allegedly located methamphetamine, marijuana, items of drug paraphernalia and evidence to indicate methamphetamine was being distributed from the home. In addition, an individual prohibited from possessing firearms was found to be in possession of two handguns, one of which was reported stolen from Johnson County.

Court documents say Derrick A. Clay is charged with felonies for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession and unlawful use of a weapon, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest. Bond is set at $35,000 cash or surety.

Clay’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
