Elizabeth “Liz” Bullington, age 91, of Marshall, MO, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater, MO.

Private family graveside services will be held at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall, with Rev. Randy Shannon officiating. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.

Memorials are suggested to Marshall Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Born July 3, 1930, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Aron McCloud and Celia Augustine Hopkins McCloud. She lived in Saline County her entire life and was a graduate of Marshall High School and Missouri Valley College earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. On August 7, 1949, in Marshall, she married Robert L. Bullington who preceded her in death on April 18, 2011. Her teaching career began in a one room schoolhouse in Shelby, and she continued to teach in Napton, Orearville and Marshall Public Schools, retiring after 36 years. She was a member of Marshall Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir, was a member of its Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Ministry holding several offices, served as Sunday school superintendent, taught Sunday school and served as an elder. She was a member of Arrow Rock Craft Club and enjoyed fishing, camping, water skiing, traveling to all 50 states in addition to Mexico and Europe, quilting, crafts and bird watching which she identified 163 species.

Survivors include two daughters, Becky Sue Nicholas and Terry Ann Wright (Milton) of rural Marshall; six grandchildren, Jason Nicholas, John Thomas Nicholas, Jessica Lim, James Robert Nicholas, Rebecca Wright and Elizabeth Lyons; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Liz was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tom Nicholas; two brothers, Wallace McCloud and Theron McCloud; and one sister, Thelma Lindimore.
