The overall positive COVID-19 case count has climbed to more than 1,700 in Chariton County.

Officials at the Chariton County Health Center say there were 30 newly-reported positive cases, and 22 of the active cases were released from public health isolation on Wednesday, February 2.

This makes a total of 1,747 positive cases in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

Due to 1,681 of them being released from public health isolation as recovered and 21 COVID-19-related deaths, there are 45 active cases in the county.
