A 19-year-old Sedalia resident charged with multiple felonies in connection with a reported shooting incident on February 27, 2021, is due in court.

A Sedalia Police report says, officers responded to the report of shots fired at Centennial Park and found several shell casings. They were made aware that Eabey Carlos-Gonzalez was at Bothwell Regional Health Center being treated for a gunshot wound. An investigation revealed gunfire was exchanged between two vehicles- one of them being occupied by Carlos-Gonzalez.

According to court documents, Carlos-Gonzalez is charged with assault in the first degree or attempt, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Bond originally was set at $75,000 cash or surety. However, the court lowered bond to $25,000 cash or surety on December 6, and Carlos-Gonzalez posted surety bond on December 9.

Carlos-Gonzalez’s case was bound over to the trial division on November 16. He pleaded not guilty and waived formal arraignment on December 6. His next hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Monday, February 7, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
