The major snow event that took place in west-central Missouri last week prevented Marshall Municipal Services from running its normal trash pickup routes for Wards 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Thursday.

At the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, February 7, due to the cleanup job done by the street crews, Ward 3 Councilman Dan Brandt said the sanitation crews are back on track for this week.

Brandt also offered the Stormwater Tip of the Month, asking residents to limit the usage of salt to help clean their driveways and sidewalks.

In other news, the council approved three events to be sponsored by the Marshall Chamber of Commerce on the Square- The Wine Walk on Saturday, May 14; Trick-or-Treating on the Square on Thursday, October 20; and the Christmas Parade on Friday, December 2.
