The Higginsville Board of Aldermen discussed a resolution involving sewerage system bonds during its meeting this week.

Aldermen approved the resolution offering the sale of sewerage system refunding bonds to refund the city’s outstanding taxable sewerage system revenue bonds.

According to a release from City Administrator Jeanette Dobson, this resolution authorizes Raymond James as the city’s financial advisor and Gilmore and Bell as the city’s bond counsel to proceed with all of the necessary work to provide for the sale of the city’s Series 2022 bonds. However, the ordinance formally authorizing in the issuance of the Series 2022 bonds and approving the final financing terms will be presented for board approval at a later date.

In other news, aldermen also approved an ordinance amending a section of the municipal code regarding the clerk of the municipal court.

Also, it was noted city hall will be closed on Monday, February 21, in observance of Presidents’ Day. The next meeting also is pushed back a day to be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22.
