
One-third of positive COVID-19 cases confirmed were breakthrough cases during a recent seven-day period in Pettis County.
According to officials at the Pettis County Health Center, from January 30-February 6, there were 348 positive tests, including 116 breakthrough cases for a breakthrough rate of 33.3 percent. The breakthrough cases break down as 64 Pfizer, 46 Moderna and six J & J.
In all, there have been 11,460 positive cases confirmed in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.
With 141 COVID-19-related deaths and 10,992 previously-positive cases released from public health isolation as recovered, there are 327 active cases in the county, including 14 persons hospitalized.
Vaccines are available for everyone at least five years old. Booster doses are available five months after the last dose for Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or two months after the J & J vaccine for persons 12 years and older through the health center, Katy Trail Community Health and Bothwell Regional Health Center. All vaccines are free. The Pettis County Health Center provides vaccine for homebound individuals. You need to call (660) 827-1130 to make arrangements.
The health center has regular walk-in clinics from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays; 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursdays; and from noon to 3 p.m. on Fridays.
