The Lafayette County Health Department reports the county’s COVID-19 related death count has reached triple digits.

On Monday, February 14, the health department reported an additional death – bringing the total to 100 deaths since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This week Lafayette County has confirmed 5,055 positive cases, compared to 4,948 last week. Health officials say there are currently 33 active cases and 29 hospitalizations.

The case count since February 7, breaks down as 42 in Odessa; 19 in Higginsville; 12 cases each in Concordia and Lexington; seven in Bates City; and less than four cases each in Alma, Blackburn, Corder, Dover, Emma, Mayview, Napoleon, Rural Oak Grove, Waverly and Wellington.
