Many cell phone companies are retiring the 3G network to make room for the new, faster 5G service.

A news release says if you have a cell phone that’s more than a few years old, you may need a new one when your cell phone company shuts down its 3G network this year.

To avoid losing service, you are advised to plan ahead by checking with your mobile provider to make sure your phone will work with 5G.
