The Pettis County Commission has made a decision to move a Public Hearing from 9 a.m. Thursday, February 17, to 9 a.m. Thursday, February 24, to take action on a proposed Waste Management Ordinance and Host Agreement.

Commissioners say this change of date was made in order to ensure ample time for public review due to courthouse closures, and allow for all commissioners to be present and take action.

The commission says the public hearing will be held in the county commission chambers at the Pettis County Courthouse in Sedalia.

Copies of the proposed ordinance and host agreement currently are available in the commission chambers to allow for public inspection. A moment dedicated for public comment will be available during the hearing. Public comments may be made before the bench during regular session, but must be submitted in writing.

The Commission generally meets from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday (unless otherwise specified on the agenda). Written comments may be mailed to 415 South Ohio Avenue, Suite 212A, or e-mailed to andersonk@pettiscomo.com.

To make an appointment with your commissioner or to request to be placed on the commission’s agenda, you may call Kristen Anderson, Assistant to the Commission, at (660) 826-5000, ext. 410.

Copies of the proposed ordinance and the proposed host agreement also are available at www.pettiscomo.com.
