Marjorie Mae Nolte, 88, of Blackburn, MO, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at The Living Center in Marshall, MO.

Marjorie was born on July 4, 1933, in Corder, MO to Albert Dieckman and Johannah (Steinmeyer) Dieckman. She was baptized on July 30, 1933, at Zion Lutheran Church in Corder, MO and was confirmed into the Christian faith on March 13, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church in Blackburn, MO. Marjorie attended Hedgewood and Zion Lutheran

Elementary School in Corder, MO and also Zion Lutheran Elementary and Blackburn High School in Blackburn, MO. She married Chester Nolte on July 4, 1950 and they began their life together on a farm south of Blackburn, MO.

Chester and Marjorie attended United Christian Church in Blackburn, MO where she was an active member. She stayed busy as a housewife, mother and helped with all the farming activities, especially the chickens and the milk cows for many years until she decided to work off the farm. She worked at V-Drive Inn in Sweet Springs as a dishwasher until she found her beloved profession as a dental assistant.

Marjorie loved her flower gardens and farm animals. She was known to rescue an owl on the side of the highway and nursed it back to health until it was ready to fly away. Her most notorious pet was her rooster and of course many cats, dogs, rabbits, ducks and chickens. She had many talents and could do anything including, sewing, cooking, baking, gardening and reading and researching through her up to date encyclopedias. Her favorite pastime of all was babysitting and caring for her grandchildren. Later in life, Chester and Marjorie found a new hobby, square dancing. It was there they met so many lifelong friends and enjoyed many good times.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Fern Dell Dieckman; brother, Allen Dieckman; sons, Larry William Nolte and Dennis Gene Nolte; sister in-law, Gladys Martens; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Nolte.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years Chester Nolte of the home; daughters: Diana Huff (Ralph) of Lee’s Summit, MO and Connie Rolf (Derron) of Alma, MO; sister in law, Judy Dieckman; grandchildren, Monica Kirchhoff (Jeff), Hanna Nolte, Kristina Gilpin (Shannon), Hunter Rolf (Kendra), Hadley Rolf, David Huff (Madi), Jonathan Huff (Sarah) and Noah Huff; great-grandchildren: Kiahla Buchanan (Levi), Emma Kirchhoff, Amelia Kirchhoff, Matthias

Kirchhoff, Bannon Nolte, Gavin Nolte, Brian Gilpin, Bella Gilpin, and Eliza Huff; and great-great-grandchildren, Josiah Buchanan and Ezra Buchanan.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 19,  at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Blackburn.  Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral service from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Blackburn Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
