Two administrators in the Glasgow School District will be staying for another year.
According to unofficial minutes from the school board meeting on Wednesday, February 16, the board approved contract extensions for high school principal Stacey Kottman and elementary principal Janine Machholz.
In other news, the board approved the mid-year budget review. Currently, the school district revenues are slightly higher than expected and expenditures have held steady. Reserves are strong and continue to grow.
The board discussed the possibility of creating a co-op for football. After much discussion, the board determined that a football co-op is not in the district’s best interest.
Also, the board discussed possible upgrades to the lower playground area that is utilized by sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students. Upgrades proposed include: the addition of a basketball court; new swings; a tetherball court; an area for corn hole; and an area with outdoor tables for lunches and outdoor classroom experiences. The board tabled a vote until closer to the end of the fiscal year- which is June 30.
