An inmate died at an area jail on Friday, February 18.

A release from the Ray County Sheriff’s Department says, “There was an incident in the jail that unfortunately ended in the passing of an inmate. There is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. At this time, we ask that everyone be respectful for the sake of the families.”
