A 31-year-old Grandview resident charged with felonies after a reported disturbance on October 13 in Pettis County is due in court.
A Sedalia Police report says a woman told officers she was assaulted by Randee Powell. Officers noticed the woman was bleeding from the left side of her head around her ear. Her left ear was split open on the back side. The woman showed the officer a wound on the right side of her head behind her right ear, where she said Powell had jabbed her head with a handgun. Officers say the wound almost appeared to be a half-circle, and would be consistent with her skin being cut open by a circular object such as a gun barrel. The pistol was found in a truck Powell was trying to get in to leave the scene. The woman was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.
According to court documents, Powell is charged with felonies for domestic assault in the second degree; armed criminal action; and unlawful use of a weapon- exhibiting. Powell posted $25,000 surety bond on October 18.
Powell was indicted by a Grand Jury on November 10. Her counsel-status hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
