An Independence man facing a felony charge after a reported high-speed pursuit on multiple Lafayette County roadways into Jackson County on November 5, 2021, has a court proceeding scheduled.

A probable-cause statement says speeds during the chase- which started in Odessa and ended in Independence- reached up to 100 miles per hour on I-70. Authorities say they also pursued the suspect on Old Highway 40, Highway 131 and Route Z.

Court documents say Gage Mitchell is charged with a felony for resisting arrest for a felony by fleeing. The court set bond at no bond and denied a request for bond reduction on December 22.

Mitchell pleaded not guilty on November 15. His next hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
